I am a movie buff like many other Indians and do not miss any chance to pick up on good movies. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is a perfect Hindi flick for lazy weekend afternoons or singleton movie dates.

Cast

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda as a lead pair the movie revolves around their love and professional life. Rao plays the role of Satyendra Misra (Sattu), a junior clerk in the first half, transforming into a top brass bureaucrat in later part. Kriti Kharbanda (Aarti Shukla) is a well-educated, ambitious girl aiming to ace in Civil Services entrance exams.

With supporting cast as impeccable as Govind Namdev, Navni Parihar, Manoj Pahwa, Alka Amin, Vipin Sharma and K.K.Raina fit perfectly well.

Plot – Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana Movie Review

Based in typical north Indian middle-class families, the movie depicts the right sentiment of social strata. The movie begins with the arranged marriage set-up between two families, Misra’s and Shukla’s. Gradually touching on social causes of dowry, women’s desire to work post marriage, central government jobs.

Satyendra and Aarti fall in love and agree to marry as their parents expected. The twist in the all-is-going-good plot comes in when Aarti learns she cleared her Civil Services exam. But the road to professional wisdom is cut short by her elder sister, who mentions that Sattu’s mother is against working women culture. Panicked by all the commotion, Aarti elopes her own wedding leaving Sattu behind fuming and betrayed.

Cut to five years later, they meet again but the dynamics have changed. Satyendra is the new boss of Aarti and filled with a vengeance against her.

Movie Watching Experience

Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana was released in November 2017. Watching it on the big screen was an amazing experience, but few films leave behind memories. Rajkummar Rao is a fabulous actor with unconventional looks and amazing acting skills. An ace on acting skills, and the choice of movies one can vouch for his long innings in Indian cinema. Recently while searching for his upcoming movie Stree, I stumbled upon Shaadi Mein… on ZEE5. Which is a website to get all your entertainment needs satiated?
