Indie Chic – Fashion Fusion #NYFashionTrain

Thank you for boarding #NYFashionTrain – A style fiesta to augment style quotient a little. Moving forward from Wigglingpen who initiated this journey with a spicy cauldron of Bollywood Diva’s fashion styles. Read her Bollywood Styles here – Style in Bollywood Style this New Year. I thank her for guiding Fashion-A-Thon towards me, and I will take you ahead in this glittery, glamorous journey.

Fashion statement which is doing rounds across all sphere and a major head turner today – Fusion Wear. Indie Chic – Mix Ethnic and a little dash of Western with some oomph and bold attitude. As I always say – Style has lot to do from inside than outer self.

I have recently been to a wedding, and was amazed to see how Fusion Wear has made space in Special Occasions – weddings, festivals etc. Ethnic wear like Sarees, Salwar Kameez, Lehengas, were interestingly taken over by Indie Chic look.

Asymmetrical Hemline Fashion Trend

fashion nyfashiontrainThe first in my list are – Asymmetrical Hem Dresses, very chic and fashionable. Asymmetrical dresses are available in Tunics, Kurta/ Kurti, One-piece dresses, etc. You can pair these depending on the need or occasion. Goes well with stilettos for cocktail party style look or with gold bold flats for casual look.

Ethnic Long Skirts with Crop Tops / Blouses

Floor length ethnic skirts take my heart away, every time I look at them. Have always loved skirts as they accentuate your height well. Available in huge variety of Ethnic prints, gold zari borders, gota work, block prints, plaits, etc. These skirts are just too good to resist. Pair them with some contrast crop tops or kalamkari long sleeve blouses. Trust me it will be a 100% guaranteed praise worthy. Accessorize with a chic jacket or thin stole for casual day look.

Pants to make a Difference

Palazzo or straight pants are today’s wardrobe essential. goes well with every look, classic ethnic or chic western. I find them blessing in disguise at times – either pair with western tops or ethnic kurta. Looks as good with an Anarkali kurta as with crop top. All you need is – match up to the style. These are my personal favorite (apologies if I am saying this quite often) ;D

Pep Up a level with Shrugs

nyfashiontrain

These days shrugs have become as important as the main dress itself. The style quotient goes up a notch just by pairing it right. Available in vast variety across fashion stores or via online, this is a must for fashion statement. Long or short, ethnic or chic, transparent or solid each style of shrug looks amazing.

That Quintessential Saree

fashion

Saree the pride and generic brand to Indian culture has also taken a shift to Indie Chic fusion. With a little twist in 9 yards and recasting blouses – saree has represented itself in most innovative way. I am sure this is going to stay for long, and turn heads for it’s quintessential feminine appeal.

  2. Personally I love fusion wear…Asymmetrical wear is trending now…And I think fusion can be added perfectly with saree. Recently I have tried saree with my leather jacket and it was really cool! 🙂

  3. Wonderful post I love long skirts and the indowesyern look it can get you in.. flared asymmetrical style has been quite popular in current year too.

  4. The recent trends in Indian fashion for women (even men) wear include Fusion wear. I Love this mixing ideas, western wear with the Indian wear and you add some jewellers accessories, shoes etc that’s create a fusion look. Ethnic Long Skirts with Crop Tops just take my heart away too.

  5. I always love fusion in fashion. And you have compiled them really well. That’s a good effort indeed. Especially, I wish to talk about the saree looks. Quite innovative they are.

  6. These days, the clothing trends are their best and fusion attires outstand all. I got palazzo which I pair up with different attires and it has never disappoint me. I am going to try a few of the looks you shared.

  7. You are bang on when you say, fashion is all about you! I always prefer styles that are comfortable rather than fashionable. In the fashion category I have been in love with the crop-top skirt and plazzo pants combination!

  8. The fusion wear I just love them you look diffrent in a crowd and its like you experiment with clothing. I love the ethenic wear skirts with formal collar shirts. I loved this post this gives me lot of ideas to try diffrent way of clothings at one place.
