Looks like we made it
Look how far we’ve come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we’d get there someday!! – Shania Twain

When they met for the very first time, nothing actually happened! He was riding pillion on a friend’s bike, and she chattering around with her friends. Their eyes never met, no sparks, no bells or violin, it was business as usual, absolute contrast to what they show in romantic movies. Nevertheless, there is much more to this story.

The same place of learning but different years, one senior to another but destiny had plans that will soon coincide their paths. A common friend assists in preliminary introductions, he likes her simplicity instantly, but she hates him for wasting the youth in cigarette’s smoke.

They say opposite attracts, and in reality, is it really true, let’s see. Though she never liked his aura, it stunk of impetuous, recklessness, and not to forget the smoke, but there was something about him that made her heart jump out of it’s cavity (mostly). He is true to her assumptions, was not bothered but still ventured around her hostel during the evenings for reasons best known to him. Their bonding felt like a far fetched call – ‘as girls like her don’t fall in love with boys like him.’

What is meant to be will always find its way! – Anonymous.

It was a fortunate afternoon, she saw him worried over things beyond himself. Their interaction brought hope and a connection that was new and unfamiliar to both. This planted the seeds of friendship which will progress from being friends to life partners.

Years passed, feelings strengthened they were one but distant on geographical lines. Long-Distance Relationship! Life goes on, graduated from college, settled in their respective careers, and their love blossomed.

As they say ‘Time and tide wait for none’, but here it waited for the whole five years until they had elders blessings.

Ye hai meri kahaani! This post is the last love story of the series – Short Love Stories. Sharing a beautiful song by Shania Twain which so much resonates my feelings for him – man I love and life for. Hope you enjoyed these stories, as much as I do writing them for you.
