My curly hair story with Curlvana Products Review – The grass is always greener on the other side. People with straight hair want curls and people blessed with curly mane crave sleek, straight hair. It took me a while to embrace my wavy curls, but ever since I’ve acknowledged and accepted them, I’ve tried to formulate a solid curly hair routine to keep them in place. Recently I came across Curlvana, which is India’s first glycerine-free curl care brand.

Upon research I found their products to be very interesting. Plus, their prime ingredients are nourishing in nature and great for Indian curly hair. If you want to know my honest Curlvana products review then read ahead!

About Curlvana

Curlvana is a new brand that formulates products for Indian curly hair. They currently have a range of 5 products that are free from SLS, parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrances, and other nasty chemicals. Each of their products comes in a 200ml tube packaging. The brand has put in a lot of R&D to understand Indian curly hair. The reason they have cut off glycerine from their ingredient list is that it can cause frizz. Curlvana uses ethically sourced ingredients, they are eco-friendly and cruelty-free. The brand has a very wholesome fun vibe that I like, but are the products any good? Let’s find out more about this Curlvana Products Review.

My experience – Curlvana products review especially made for Curly Hair

1. Curlvana Fortifying Curl Cleanse

Brand Claim: It’s time for a shampoo that doesn’t dry your curls, and also prevents breakage. Suitable for frequent washes, this cleanser is formulated with mild surfactants to remove grime, sebum, and build-up without stripping your hair of its natural moisture.

My experience: The Curlvana shampoo is priced at Rs 599 for 200ml of product. It has a light gel-like consistency with a brownish hue to it. I use it by dissolving it in a little bit of water so that it doesn’t strip my hair of its natural oils. After having used this product for over a month, I’ve noticed that my curl pattern has improved and my hair doesn’t feel very dry anymore. However, I would suggest following it up with a conditioner to add back some hydration to the curls. My curlvana products review is from my usage and personal experience.

2. Curlvana Curl Shine Gentle Conditioner

Brand Claim: It’s time for a conditioner that doesn’t weigh down your curls. Instantly provides much-needed moisturization to your thirsty curls. Curls look voluminous, bouncy, smooth, and hydrated revealing their natural shine.

My Experience: Formulated with potent ingredients like Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Vitamin B5, Fermented rice water extract, and coffee, this conditioner claims to add shine and softness to dull, lifeless curls. I comb my hair after applying this conditioner to evenly distribute the product throughout my hair. I’ve noticed it provides an exceptional slip for the comb to glide through easily while detangling the knots. It helps in defining my curls even during humid summers, and I am loving how my hair looks. It is priced at Rs 599 for 200 ml of product. The curlvana products review is for all those curly girls who want to get rid of untamed frizz.

3. Curlvana Curl Styling Leave-In Cream

Brand Claim: It’s time for a leave-in cream that doesn’t cause buildup. Ease the frizz, skip the tangles, and enhance your natural shine and bounce with this smooth, whipped leave-in cream. Get incredibly soft curls, effortlessly!

My Experience: The prime ingredients in this product are Jamaican black castor oil, fermented rice water extract, and geranium. It has a light creamy consistency and spreads evenly across damp hair. My curls look very well-defined every time I use this leave-in cream. It also doesn’t weigh down the curls so I don’t need to diffuse my hair for additional volume. It costs Rs 749 for a 200ml tube.

4. Curlvana Deep Nourish Hair Mask

Brand Claim: It’s time for a hair mask that doesn’t weigh your curls down. This mask intensively hydrates every strand and restores curl structure while imparting ample nourishment. Unlock healthy, juicy curls.

My Experience: This is my favorite product from the entire range because it has transformative qualities. My curls haven’t looked better ever since I tried this hair mask. I leave it on for around 30 minutes after shampooing my tresses and it gives me the most glorious curls sans the frizz. It’s an excellent pick-me-up for dry curls and I would highly, highly recommend it. A 200ml tube costs Rs 749.

5. Curlvana Curl defining styling gel

Brand Claim: It’s time for a styling gel with light silk-like consistency. Show up with your curls in your favorite style and get ready for all the compliments.

My Experience: Honestly, I don’t like to gel my curls, because it leaves a crunchy, sticky film on the hair that I hate. It also adds to the product buildup. While this gel is lightweight and smooth, I use it only on special occasions when I have to go to a party or other events. I like the manageability and soft hold it provides, but because of my lesser affinity towards hair gels in general, I may not use this product very often. My final verdict

There are so many CG-approved products in India these days, but not all brands have been able to impress me. While some have made my hair dry, others have flattened my curls. Just like the 3rd bear in Goldie Locks, Curlvana brings forth a middle ground, with the best of all worlds. I have noticed considerably less frizz in my hair ever since I started with this routine. It will suit people belonging to the wavy and coiled hair family as well. The whole range is very well curated for those who don’t know much about the Curly Girl Method but are looking for appropriate products to suit Indian curly hair. My curlvana products review rate this brand 4.2 out of 5.
