The Huawei sub-brand Honor recently launched its latest smartphone model Honor Play in the Indian market. It seems like the smartphone manufacturer is in no mood to stop. However, Amazon’s listing now shows the launch early next month. It will sell exclusively on the e-retail platform. For the exclusive entry of the smartphone on Amazon, Amazon India has put a dedicated Honor Play page on board.

The Huawei owned Honor’s new smartphone Honor Play is a gaming-centric smartphone launched in India on August 6. Honor Play is an Amazon exclusive for the game enthusiasts of the country. It is one of the first phones to feature Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology for gaming and overall performance and has a powerful HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. The Honor Play smartphone has already been launched in China in the month of June this year. So as speculated the phone’s specifications will be no surprise to the fans.

Honor Play: Specifications

The smartphone has first been unveiled in China in the month of June and priced at CNY 1,999. That is approximately Rs. 21,000 for its 4GB RAM variant. The 6GB RAM model of Honor Play priced at CNY 2,399 which is around Rs. 25,100. The smartphone is available in multiple color options like Black, Blue, and Violet in the Chinese market.

The Honor Play is the latest flagship from Huawei with best features and expected to cost Rs. 21,000 in the Indian market. The Huawei Honor Play powers a 6.3-inch full HD display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution with NTSC color gamut.

It is the first device from Huawei’s shelf to feature in-house ‘GPU Turbo’ technology. Honor has incorporated “4D” haptic feedback to render a smooth performance while playing games.

The main highlight of the phone is its high performing processor. The smartphone powered by the octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Along with Mali-G72 GPU and built-in NPU (neural processor unit). Coming to optics it sports a dual camera setup with AI features. A 16-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. A 2-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture at the back. The front camera features a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Honor Play comes with 3750mAh battery along with fast charging support. It has a dedicated micro SD card slot extendable to 256 GB and dual SIM (nano + nano) dual-standby (4G+4G) slot. Honor Play has 64GB of inbuilt storage.

Network and connectivity Honor play provide multiple options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac,. Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C. This smartphone also features various sensors like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The dimensions of Honor Play are 157.91×74.27×7.48mm and weighs 176 grams.

Honor has been one of the fastest growing brands in India in the second quarter. After registering a whopping growth of 188 percent, in addition to a 3 percent market share. According to the Counterpoint Research in its latest report, Huawei stands at the fifth place in Q2 2018 in market share.

Earlier, Honor has launched Honor 9N which was available by July 31 exclusively via Flipkart and Honor’s e-store. This time Amazon has tried and successfully wooed Huawei to launch Honor exclusive via Amazon. The Honor 9N has launched in Indian Markets a functional model at the cost of Rs 11,999. For the base model with 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage, 4GB RAM. The 64GB storage model priced at Rs 13,999. However, the Honor 9N top model with a 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is available at a retail price of Rs 17,999.
