Books are the perfect companions for life, ask a book-lover and they can give numerous advantages of reading. I picked up reading during my graduation days, books on romance, sci-fi, and thriller excite me the most. L. J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Da Vinci Code series by Dan Brown, Sydney Sheldon’s classics, John Grisham‘s A Time to Kill, are my most loved treasure. Mom is still holding on to these classics for me at home. Probably this affair with reading gave birth to the urge of writing my own book. Last year, I published my very first solo e-book – It’s All About Love courtesy of Blogchatter’s e-book carnival.
This year, I had to leave the challenge midway, however, the books published during the carnival are a treat for all book lovers. In this post, I am sharing with you my most favorite picks from the Blogchatter e-book carnival 2021.
1. A2Z of Common Diseases & their Homeopathic Treatment – Dr. Surbhi Prapanna

Dr. Surbhi Prapanna is known for creating content around health in International Blogging circles. Her blog and writing emphasis on eating right, following a balanced life, and practicing prevention and holistic treatments to combat ay disease or situation. She has written on healthy eating for busy mothers in 2020, and this year her book is about – Common Diseases and their Homeopathic Treatments. The book shares most common diseases like earaches, indigestion, insomnia, colic baby, teething, hair loss, etc and the treatment for same in Homeopathy.
As an expert practicing homeopathy, author elaborates the advantages of treating common diseases with this alternative medical system. A must read book for all, and to be downloaded as a health-guide. I could relate to this book well, as have grown-up in the family system where medicine’s are taken only when deemed necessary and not like popping pills.
She also adds the reasons why homeopathy works on few brilliantly and not so well for others. It will be my go to book for treating most common health related issues.
2. I Live to Love You – Roma Gupta Sinha

An acclaimed author, communication expert, fitness enthusiast, and a wonderful friend, Roma Gupta Sinha has published her sixth book this year. I am a sucker of romance genre, and unconventional love stories are hit with me instantly. Roma, chose to explore romance in her latest book with 31 chapters on love, emotions, and relationship converted into a remarkable novel.
The book is about three best friends, their journey from friends to companions for life, which later turned into a quest for love. Filled with unexpected turn of events, this is a wonderful read for those who like reading on the edge.
You will connect to this book instantly, as it has many relatable nuances from real-world. Music from the Indian film – Aradhaya, characterization of protagonist, narration, will make you believe in the cause and their story.
Another wonderful marvel from Roma Gupta Sinha.
3. Bloggers Unplugged – Ruchi Verma

Blogging is one of the most misrepresented word used on Social-media platforms. Ruchi Verma, identified this grey area and shared her immense knowledge on BLOGGING through her pictorial book called – Bloggers Unplugged. As the name suggests, the book shares life of a blogger in a very relative and fun manner. The 26 lessons are in the form of meme cum images, explained in simple terms for readers.
Ruchi is the most dedicated and passionate person I have ever met, her enthusiasm rubs onto you when you read from her blog www.wigglingpen.com. Author of two e-books, an award winning blogger, and my soul-sister, Ruchi has written this book with two clear purposes – To show the real hard-work bloggers put up to create content online, and To eradicate the misunderstanding between Blogging and Micro-blogging (social media posts)
Through her book, she tried to explain the life of bloggers in the green-room. Planning, SEO, website and time management, research analysis, digital marketing, and much more.
Readers will get a glimpse of blogger’s life and their day-to-day pressures to build quality content. A short and fun read, written brilliantly targeting those who wish to venture into blogging. I also love the fact, author has clearly enlisted blogging as a future skill based career.
4. A2Z of Image Management – Swati Mathur

Swati Mathur is a certified image consultant, a trainer, employability and job coach, EQ coach and a Life coach. As a soft-skill trainer, she comes across job aspirants, students, and others on the daily basis. Through her book, A2Z of Image Makeover, Swati emphasized the role of appearance in personal and professional life.
She categorially explains the difference between makeover and image-management, advocates body positivity and explained the need of presenting self in professional set-up. I could connect to this book on various levels, firstly as a soft-skill trainer in my later years of corporate-career, image-management and communication were my forte. Secondly, during the academia stint, I have prepared students to face their very first job-interview. The examples from the book were humble reminder of my life as an assistant professor in Post-graduate college.
I particularly like one liner quote in Swati’s book – “people ‘don’t have figure problems, but fitting problems.” Author also pointed out the mindset where people those hiring or employable, both suffer from the dilemma of body types and dressing sense. She has also explained the need of formal/casual set-up dressing along with the accessories.
If you are into hiring processes, or seeking job for yourself, into the professional system or a newbie this book is a must read.
5. Simple Tricks to win your Subconscious Mind – Geethica Mehra

Geethica Mehra writes on mindfulness, gratitude, and motivation. Identifying these terms and creating a connection is not an easy job, I have read (read attempted to read) many books on gratitude or motivation, but they get slow and ultimately you give up reading. But Geethica’s writing will convince you to believe into the concept of being-thoughtful of your subconscious mind.
At first, I was not very keen on reading this book, due to the heavy title, as you feel this will be a technical book with psychological words and phrases. After my conversation with Geethica around books, I realized it is not what I was perceiving it to be!
Don’t Judge a book by it’s cover.
Anonymous
Well, I did that mistake and judged a book without even giving a second thought. Glad I proved wrong, and this book turned out be to amazing. You can instantly connect to the real-life examples Geethica shares while explaining a concept.
‘Your thinking shapes your brain’, the author explains with examples our thinking directly indicates the health of our brain. The tricks she shared to train the brain are easy to understand and quite doable, simple things like creating a story when you are idle or humming your favorite song. Have a checklist and repeatedly train your brain to do activities mentioned in that list. Cognitive learning, I could clearly understand the lessons are backed up with proper reasons and age-old practices of keeping self occupied.
So, these are the book I have downloaded from Blogchatter Library for free (until 30th June) read, and liked a lot. There are many other books, which I wanted to read and mark them done on my TBR. Hope you are also reading some good books yourself, don’t forget to mention in the comments below your favorite books.
