Do you like Sarees? I am sure your answer would be affirmative. What you like most,  in a saree? The style, grace, traditions, culture or fashion statement. For me, it is a mix of all honestly. Do you buy sarees online? Yes, I do. Check out the post for more details.

Saree/Sari – nine yards of style, culture, and love weaved together! This is one garment which you cannot ignore. As they say, you love it/you hate it, but can’t ignore it!

Saree an affair to remember

My affair with SAREE began very early in life. Mom would bring out her heavy silken drapes and let me choose one for her. For special functions or occasions – festivals/parties/functions. I remember her peacock green colored banarsi silk saree that was my all-time favorites. Today I see the same affection for this garment in the eyes of my little girl. She loves it when I drape saree perfectly.

But thankfully I don’t have to go through the drilling experience of ‘buying a saree‘ for hours in markets. Today all I do is just click and buy saree online. My favorite drape comes to the door via Online Shopping.

Over the years this beautiful fashionable sign of femininity has transformed many times. From a basic garment into a sensuous, glamorous, all time wear, even corporate-wear avatars. And gladly today with fast moving fashion technology finding your best-suited style is not very troublesome anymore.

Some more about the Love of Saree

Saree Trivia: Do you know a saree can be draped in more than 80 different styles. Each of this style has taken its indigenous name from the origin.

My mother and mother-in-law both are blessed with huge collections of sarees ranging from daily wear to specials & very specials. I did not feel guilty at all by grabbing the best ones from the lot 😉 I too have a decent enough collection starting from work-related saree to evening ones or heavy silk banarsi to embroidered zardozi.

You must have heard these names of famous saree origins – Nauvari of Maharashtra, Seedha Pallu of Gujarat. Mekhela from Assam, Coorgi style from Karanataka’s Coorg, Madisaru from Tamil Nadu. Mohiniattam of Kerela and many more.

If we have Banarsi and Kanjeevaram famous for their grandeur, Tant & Chenderi are known for the earthy weaves. Every occasion calls for a special drape, for Hindu marriages red color is considered auspicious.
